Institute

At Karma Lekshey Ling, the monks engage in both secular and religious studies. Mastery of the Tibetan language is encouraged, along with an education in computers, English, Chinese and Nepali.

Core religious texts of the Mahayana and Vajrayana schools are also taught. These scriptures commentate on everything from the stages of the path, the moral discipline of monks, impermanence, the realm of samsara, the inner-workings of the mind, emptiness, and Buddha-nature. Thus, all the major points of Buddhist philosophy are covered within the course of study at the monastic college.
